Houston Texans running back Arian Foster won't be placed on injured reserve/designated to return, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
It's great news for the Texans, as it indicates they expect Foster to be back on the field ahead of the eight weeks he'd be forced to miss with the designation.
Foster underwent groin surgery in early August. Initially, it was reported he could be out of action for several months.
News out of Houston has been decidedly more optimistic since as the latest reports suggest Foster could be back on the field as early as late September.
