Report: Redskins will not re-sign Santana Moss
One of the longest tenured Washington Redskins has played his last game with the team.
The Redskins will not re-sign receiver Santana Moss, according to John Keim of ESPN.
Moss has been with Washington since 2005, but fell out of favor with the offense in 2014. He played in 10 games and made just 10 receptions. Moss didn't record a receiving touchdown for the first time since his rookie season with the New York Jets in 2001.
Washington drafted a pair of receivers in Jamison Crowder and Evan Spencer earlier this month, making Moss even more expendable.
Moss has totaled 732 catches for more than 10,000 yards in his career, but he will face an uphill climb to land a contract with another team. At 35 years of age, there likely won't be many offers for his services.
