Bengals' Jones to kicker: 'Do your job'
Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam Jones wasn't shy about throwing his kicker under the bus following a 37-37 tie with the Carolina Panthers on Sunday afternoon.
"We were in a perfect position to win the game, two seconds left on the clock, we've got to win the game," Jones said, according to NFL.com's Conor Orr. "Everybody in here gets paid to do a job and that's what everybody needs to do."
Bengals kicker Mike Nugent wasn't able to do his job, pushing a potential game winning 36-yard field goal wide right as the clock ticked down in overtime.
Although Jones stopped short of suggesting that the Bengals find a new kicker, his message to Nugent was perfectly clear.
"I didn't say that, but I said everybody gets paid to do a job," he said. "So perform and do your job, that's all I'm saying."
