Report: Raiders head coach Dennis Allen's job status in question
After an 0-2 start to the season, and now just an 8-26 record since being hired in 2012, the job status of Oakland Raiders head coach Dennis Allen is anything but certain moving forward.
Appearing on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown, Adam Schefter indicated that current offensive line and assistant head coach Tony Sparano could be in position to become the Raiders' interim head coach if the team continues to perform at the level it has thus far.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport indicates that, while a move could eventually be made, it would take a meltdown Sunday against the Patriots for it to happen so soon, and that Allen will be afforded the opportunity to turn the season around.
The job of general manager Reggie McKenzie, however, appears to be safe:
#Raiders source close to Mark Davis notes GMs get more than one coach. Belief is foundation being built, Reggie McKenzie in no trouble

Either way, should the Raiders continue as one of the NFL's worst teams, in a season they had expected to take a step forward and become relatively competitive, owner Mark Davis may be forced to make some significant changes.
