Damon Allen of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts passes former CFL and NFL quarterback Warren Moon's total of 70,553 yards to become professional football's all-time leading passer.
Allen, the brother of NFL star Marcus Allen, played for five different teams in his 23-year CFL career and won the Grey Cup four times. He retired in 2008 at age 44.
In 2011, the CFL's Anthony Calvillo bested Allen's record.
2009 - LeGarrette Blount suspended for season after punching opposing player

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount is suspended for the remainder of the college football season after punching an opponent and charging at opposing fans after Oregon's season-opening game against Boise State.
Blount's actions were captured on video and received copious airtime on sports television. "He can bounce back from this," Oregon coach Chip Kelly said afterward. "LeGarrette Blount won't just be a YouTube clip."
Blount later apologies and was reinstated for Oregon's game against Arizona State in November. He entered the NFL Draft the following spring.
1966 - Oilers hold Broncos without a first down

The Denver Broncos set a record for ineptitude in their season-opening game, failing to register a single first down in a 45-7 loss to the Houston Oilers. The feat hasn't been matched since.
