Rice's decision to retire stems from his history of concussion problems, according to Pro Football Talk's sources.
A Pro-Bowler in 2009, Rice appeared in eight games for the Seahawks in 2013, making 15 receptions for 231 yards and three touchdowns before tearing his ACL in Week 8 win over the St. Louis Rams.
Rice wasn't expected to be healthy by the time Seahawks training camp opened, and there was wide speculation that he was unlikely to make the team anyway.
