Joe Montana, Dan Marino headline Candlestick Park finale

The San Francisco 49ers bid farewell to Candlestick Park in December, but the stadium will play host to one more football game before its doors are closed for good.

Nearly 30 years after leading their respective teams to Super Bowl XIX, Hall of Fame quarterbacks Joe Montana and Dan Marino will square off in a flag football game at the 'Stick. Scheduled for June 12, the game will pit Montana and former 49ers Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, and Dwight Clark, among others, against Marino and other former NFL players.

Tickets for the game go on sale May 10.

Montana spent the first 13 seasons of his career in San Francisco, where he won four Super Bowl championships. In 167 regular-season games for the 49ers, Montana completed 2,929 of 4,600 passes for 35,142 yards with 244 touchdowns and 123 interceptions.

A first-round pick of the Miami Dolphins in 1983, Marino made it to the Super Bowl just once during his 17-year career, losing to Montana and the 49ers in Super Bowl XIX. He ranks third on the NFL's all-time passing yardage list with 61,361 career yards, behind only Brett Favre (71,838) and Peyton Manning (64,964).
