The Denver Broncos added speed and athleticism to their secondary with their first-round draft pick, 31st overall, by selecting cornerback Bradley Roby out of Ohio State.

Roby was once considered the top cornerback prospect in the 2014 draft, but he struggled a bit in his last season of college football and reportedly fell down some teams' draft boards. Nonetheless, he's still an excellent prospect who has demonstrated the ability to play both off and press coverage at a high level.

As a three-year starter for the Buckeyes, Roby notched 179 tackles and eight interceptions. He has good size for a cornerback, and his speed (he ran a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the combine) makes scouts' mouths water.

Roby likely steps in for the departed Champ Bailey, who was released by Denver and signed with the New Orleans Saints. Roby's addition gives the Broncos depth and much needed help until Chris Harris can return from his torn ACL. Harris, Roby and free agent acquisition Aqib Talib gives the Broncos the ability to line up man-to-man against any teams' three-wide-receiver sets.
