The New York Jets made wide receiver Eric Decker a very rich man in free agency.
How rich? Rich enough to spend $25,000 on a number.
According to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Decker has agreed to pay Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland a cool $25,000 for Cumberland's No. 87 jersey. Oh, and a steak dinner. So a total value of about $25,200.
Decker wore 87 in Denver.
Cumberland will reportedly switch to No. 85. No word on whether he'll campaign for the Jets to sign Chad Johnson (formerly Ochocinco) so he can earn another $25,000 by selling his number.
