Raji agreed to a one-year, $4 million contract with the Packers on Friday, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.
Analysis:
Raji was hoping to cash in with a huge multi-year deal this offseason, but his mediocre play in 2013 meant that was never likely to happen. The deal makes sense for both parties, as Raji gets a chance to build up his value, while the Packers retain a starting lineman at a very reasonable price. Raji isn't much of an IDP producer, and his fame far outpaces his performance to this point in his career. Still, he's a huge body with excellent athleticism for his size, and he's capable of playing multiple spots along the interior defensive line. The Packers will likely return Raji as their starting nose tackle, but he'd also be an option at 3-4 end, if the team acquires another lineman for the nose.
