The Cleveland Browns used another top pick on a wide receiver Friday, selecting Washington wideout Denzel Boston in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 39th overall.
The Browns made two first-round picks Thursday, taking offensive tackle Spencer Fano at No. 9 and wide receiver KC Concepcion with the 24th selection.
Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman headlined Cleveland's group of wide receivers in 2025.
Boston caught 62 passes for 881 yards and a career-high 11 touchdowns in his final season at Washington in 2025.
Boston's predraft profile
Boston will often be pigeonholed as your classic contested-catch machine. On one hand, it makes sense. The Washington product indeed dominates that area of the game, using his size, body control, and ability to shield off defenders to attack the ball at its highest point. He prevailed in 10 of 13 contested situations in 2025, good for an absurd 76.9% success rate, according to PFF. However, he's hardly a one-trick pony. Boston actually moves quite well for his size, as he's capable of sinking his hips and changing direction at the top of his routes.
His physicality shows up after the catch and in a willingness to get involved as a blocker. The straight-line speed will be an issue for some, and his decision to skip the 40-yard dash at both the combine and his pro day is telling. But he was never considered a candidate to run by defenses at the professional level anyway. Boston could end up being the biggest steal of this receiver class if overblown questions about his athleticism caused him to slide.
