The Houston Texans will sign veteran offensive tackle Braden Smith to a two-year, $20-million contract, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Smith, whom the Indianapolis Colts selected in the second round of the 2018 draft, had spent his entire eight-year career with the team.
The 29-year-old has started 105 games since entering the NFL, including at least 10 in every campaign. He suited up at right tackle in 13 contests last season, allowing just one sack and six quarterback hits in 471 pass-blocking snaps, according to PFF.
Smith has inside-outside versatility, as he's also played snaps at guard during his career. The move helps bolster a Texans offensive line that's surrendered the eighth-most sacks over the last two seasons.
