Report: Titans planning to bench Levis ahead of game vs. Colts
The Tennessee Titans are planning to make a change at quarterback before Sunday's game against the Indianapolis Colts, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
Mason Rudolph is expected to get the starting nod over Will Levis, barring any surprises, Fowler added.
Titans coach Brian Callahan benched Levis during the team's 37-27 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after his fourth turnover Sunday. While the move could spell the end of Levis competing for a starting role with the team, Callahan has said that a QB change wouldn't be an indictment of Levis' future in Tennessee.
Levis leads the league with four pick-6s among his 12 interceptions, and he's lost five of his eight fumbles this season. The Kentucky product has passed for 1,916 yards and 12 touchdowns while completing 63.7% of his pass attempts in 11 games. He missed some time with a sprained AC joint in his right throwing shoulder.
Levis and the Titans have endured their struggles in a 3-11 campaign that has three weeks remaining. Tennessee would need to win out just to equal its record from a year ago that ultimately cost Mike Vrabel his job.
