Lamar: 0-2 Ravens need to 'find our mojo'
Quarterback Lamar Jackson believes the Baltimore Ravens need to play more in line with their identity after their 26-23 defeat to the Las Vegas Raiders left them winless on the season.
"We just got to find a way to win. I'm not used to being 0-2," Jackson said postgame Sunday. "We got to catch our momentum and get it started."
When asked if he'll be more vocal, Jackson said, "I'm definitely going to talk to my guys because we got to find our mojo and do what we do, because that's not us at all."
Baltimore owned a 23-13 lead after running back Derrick Henry scored a touchdown with 12 minutes remaining in the game. The Raiders stormed back, reeling off 13 consecutive points capped by a 38-yard field goal by Daniel Carlson that proved to be the game-winning score.
It's the first time the Ravens have started a season 0-2 since 2015 under head coach John Harbaugh. They finished that season with a 5-11 record. The reigning AFC North champions dropped their 2024 season opener to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Baltimore didn't help its case by accumulating 11 penalties Sunday for 109 total yards. Harbaugh said the Ravens' miscues helped extend drives for the Raiders.
"We're too good of a team to let that one slip away," Baltimore offensive tackle Ronnie Stanley said, according to ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
The Raiders' defense kept Jackson in check for most of the afternoon, limiting the dual-threat quarterback to 45 rushing yards and 247 passing yards with one touchdown and one interception.
"At the end of the day, those guys made plays. They got us off the field. We've got to find a way to stay on the field," Jackson said.
Jackson and the Ravens will seek their first win in a road tilt against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 3.
