Lamar Jackson and former safety Bernard Pollard traded jabs on Twitter, and several NFL players and teammates came to the Baltimore Ravens quarterback's defense on Thursday.

Pollard, who played in the NFL from 2006-14 for multiple teams and was a starter in Baltimore when the team won the Super Bowl in 2012, stated that "no top WR will ever" want to play for the Ravens while Jackson is on the team.

"They give him the respect, but they don't want to play with him," Pollard tweeted. "LJ is good, but he's not able to make the throws."

Jackson then responded to Pollard's comments, and the two went on for an extended battle.

Several NFL players defended Jackson on social media later, including wide receiver Marquise Brown, who the Ravens traded to the Arizona Cardinals this year after he wanted out due to his fit in Baltimore's offense.
