Speculation around the NFL indicates that the Seattle Seahawks could trade wide receiver DK Metcalf this offseason. If the rumors are true, Lamar Jackson is wasting no time starting his recruitment.

The Baltimore Ravens quarterback tweeted at Metcalf on Sunday, inviting him to join Baltimore while replying to a photo of Metcalf in a Ravens uniform.

Metcalf is entering the final year of his rookie contract. Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll recently said he wants to keep the wideout long term, but the two sides have yet to agree on an extension.

It's unclear whether the Seahawks, who traded quarterback Russell Wilson to the Denver Broncos this offseason, would be open to moving Metcalf. Many within the NFL believe Seattle could trade the star receiver for "the right price," according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Marquise Brown and Rashod Bateman currently headline the Ravens' wide receiver depth chart. Brown set career highs with 91 receptions and 1,008 yards last year while also catching six touchdowns. Meanwhile, Bateman racked up 515 yards and one touchdown on 46 receptions through 12 games as a rookie in 2021. Baltimore's receiving corps also features All-Pro tight end Mark Andrews.

Though Metcalf averaged a career-low 12.9 yards per reception last year, he's established himself as one of the NFL's best young receivers since Seattle drafted him in the second round in 2019. The 24-year-old, who earned his first Pro Bowl nod in 2020, has averaged 72 receptions, 1,056 yards, and over nine touchdown catches per season.
