Washington Redskins fan Matt Fraedrich wanted so badly for Kirk Cousins to stay with the team that he wrote a letter to Dan Snyder in December asking the owner to sign the quarterback to a new long-term deal.

Fraedrich finally received a response from Snyder on Monday, and needless to say, it wasn't at all what he was expecting.

On December 1 of 2017, I wrote a letter to Dan Snyder imploring him to do everything in his power to keep Kirk Cousins. Yesterday, I got a FedEx containing only an autographed picture of Dan himself 😂😂 from r/Redskins

Fraedrich told Scott Allen of the Washington Post he was complimentary in his letter, writing that he finds it "unfair, spiteful, and petty" for fans to blame Snyder for everything that goes wrong. So when he opened a FedEx package to find nothing but an autographed photo of Snyder inside, he was "absolutely floored."

He hasn't decided what to do with the photo yet.

"As the great Ron Burgundy once said, 'I'm not even mad. I'm impressed,'" Fraedrich said. "Impressed at the complete disregard. I'm convinced it would have been better if he had just never responded. Not that I'm genuinely offended by it given the hilarity of the whole situation, but it seems to be objectively kind of a jacka-- move."
