Sherman, Jed York unblock each other on Twitter after teaming up on 49ers
Richard Sherman and San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York are on good terms now, but that wasn't the case three weeks ago when the cornerback was still a member of the Seattle Seahawks.
As York explained Wednesday at the NFL owners meetings, there were some social media formalities that needed to be sorted out after Sherman joined the 49ers.
"We had to unblock each other on Twitter," York said, according to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area.
York declined to reveal what led to the decision to block one another.
"There's just a level of competition and that competitive spirit," he said. "I'm happy to be fighting alongside him. But there was definitely a rivalry.
"At the end of the day, football is a business, but you have to figure out can you work with people who have different perspectives and different histories. And with Richard, he's going to come in and be the consummate pro."
