Report: ESPN hires former head coach John Fox as studio analyst
Former NFL head coach John Fox will join ESPN as a studio analyst for the upcoming season, sources confirmed to Richard Deitsch of The Athletic.
Fox, who was relieved of his coaching duties by the Chicago Bears Jan. 1, will replace the departed Herm Edwards, who was named head coach of Arizona State in early December.
ESPN failed to lure former quarterback Peyton Manning to the booth despite a lucrative offer that reportedly would have paid the 41-year-old upward of $10 million a year.
Fox, meanwhile, is expected to represent ESPN on NFL Live and Sportscenter.
Prior to coaching the Bears from 2015-17, Fox helped guide the Denver Broncos to four straight postseason berths, including an appearance in Super Bowl XLVIII, and another with the Carolina Panthers (XXXVIII).
