The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly playing hardball with free agent Dont'a Hightower.
The linebacker visited with the Steelers recently, and Pittsburgh informed him his offer will be pulled back if he gets on the plane without signing, NFL Network's Aditi Kinkhamwala reports.
The Steelers don't want to be used as leverage against the New England Patriots, adds NFL Network's Mike Garafolo.
Hightower is one of the few marquee free agents left on the market, and it appears he will soon be forced to decide among the Patriots, Steelers, or New York Jets.
