Redskins sign Terrelle Pryor to reported 1-year, $8M deal
The Washington Redskins have signed free-agent wide receiver Terrelle Pryor, the team announced Friday.
Official terms of the agreement were not disclosed, but Pryor reportedly lands in Washington on a one-year deal worth $8 million, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Pryor was widely expected to receive a major payday after a productive debut season at wideout with the Cleveland Browns. While it's unclear how many other offers were on the table, the short-term agreement suggests there wasn't a lucrative market for Pryor's services.
The 27-year-old arrives in Washington following the free-agent departures of DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon, which should give him the opportunity to see work as Kirk Cousins' No. 1 target before again testing the market next March.
Pryor showed plenty of promise upon making the full-time transition from quarterback, racking up 77 receptions for 1,007 yards and four touchdowns across 16 games for the Browns in 2016.
