Seahawks' Cable drops out of running for 49ers HC job, says agent
Seattle Seahawks offensive line coach Tom Cable is dropping out of the running to become the next head coach of the San Francisco 49ers, according to his agent Doug Hendrickson.
Just spoke with my client Tom Cable and he is reaffirming his commitment to the Seahawks. He wishes to thank the 49ers for the consideration

Cable, who also serves as the Seahawks assistant head coach, has previous head coaching experience, leading the Oakland Raiders between 2008 and 2010. He has been in his current position with Seattle since 2011.
Atlanta Falcons offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan remains the only candidate for the job who has already been interviewed by the 49ers. San Francisco is reportedly planning to offer Shanahan the job once his season with Atlanta is over.
