Carr out indefinitely with broken fibula; surgery set for Sunday
The AFC playoff picture has been thrown into turmoil.
Oakland Raiders quarterback Derek Carr suffered a broken fibula in Saturday's win over the Indianapolis Colts and is out indefinitely, head coach Jack Del Rio announced.
Carr will undergo surgery Sunday, but Del Rio provided no timetable for his quarterback's return
While Carr was not officially ruled out for the rest of the season, it's highly likely his campaign is done, barring a miraculously quick recovery.
The Raiders have already locked up a playoff spot, but it appears they'll have to play their first postseason game in 16 years with Matt McGloin under center.
Carr's injury also opens the door for the Kansas City Chiefs to snatch the AFC West, if they're able to win out and if the Raiders lose their season finale.
