Report: Packers' Randall out several weeks after groin surgery

Green Bay Packers cornerback Damarious Randall will be out another several weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a groin injury, a source told ESPN's Rob Demovsky.

Randall made a quick return after missing Week 5 before an apparent aggravation of the injury the following game again forced him to the sidelines for Thursday's win over the Chicago Bears.

The procedure is reportedly not expected to bring Randall's season to an early end, but a clear timeline for his return to action has yet to be determined.

Green Bay's secondary will rely heavily upon its reserves for as long as the 2015 first-round pick remains out, as his absence combined with the injured-reserve stint for Sam Shields leaves the group without each of its starting cornerbacks.

Quinten Rollins will now step into a role as the unit's top corner if he can return from a groin injury that kept him out this week, while Ladarius Gunter and Demetri Goodson round out the unit's nickel sets.
