Fantasy: Waiver Wire - Week 2

Tim Fuller / USA TODAY Sports

Every Tuesday during the season, theScore's David P. Woods runs down his recommended waiver wire pickups.

Quarterback

Brock Osweiler, Texans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. KC 28% $2

Rookie Will Fuller looks like a perfect complement to DeAndre Hopkins. Lamar Miller looks like exactly what the Texans hoped to buy in free agency. This is an offense on the rise.

Joe Flacco, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CLE 18% $1

Flacco didn't put up big fantasy numbers in Week 1, but saw many promising developments around him. Most notable among those were Mike Wallace's speed on a 66-yard touchdown and Breshad Perriman's sprawling 35-yard snag, the first catch of the former first-round pick's career. Flacco led the NFL in pass attempts last season with a very poor supporting cast. If he keeps throwing a ton and his wideouts can actually get open deep, Flacco has low-end QB1 potential.

Running Back

Spencer Ware, Chiefs

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at Texans 78% $60

If Ware is still available in your league, spend everything you have to get him. He showed in Week 1 why he will have a major role even after Jamaal Charles comes back.

Tevin Coleman, Falcons

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at OAK 43% $15

Coleman looked like a better runner than starter Devonta Freeman in Week 1, which led the Falcons coaching staff to divide touches roughly evenly between the two. This should remain a 50-50 timeshare for now, which could kill the fantasy value of both players, but don't rule out Coleman eventually seizing the lead role.

Theo Riddick, Lions

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. TEN 35% $15

With a new contract in hand, Riddick took a big bite out of Ameer Abdullah's fantasy value by scoring two touchdowns in an very impressive Week 1 performance. It's apparent Riddick will continue to play a big role for the Lions, particularly in the passing game. He's worthy of a $25 bid or perhaps even more in PPR leagues.

Terrance West, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CLE 29% $8

West managed only 38 yards in Week 1, but got the call for the Ravens' lone red-zone touch. This should remain a timeshare with veteran Justin Forsett and receiving back Buck Allen, and rookie Kenneth Dixon will eventually join the mix to further complicate matters, but for now, West looks like the best bet to score touchdowns.

James White, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. MIA 47% $5

White probably won't ever be a viable starter in standard leagues, but his five catches for 40 yards in Week 1 is an indication of what PPR owners can expect.

Darren Sproles, Eagles

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CHI 42% $2

Ryan Mathews is a strong bet to get hurt at some point. Even if he doesn't, the Eagles should look to ease the burden on rookie passer Carson Wentz by calling plenty of short passing plays to the wily veteran Sproles.

Wide Receiver

Will Fuller, Texans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. Chiefs 50% $20

The speedy first-round pick wasted little time making an impact as a pro, leading the Texans with five catches for 107 yards and a touchdown in Week 1. The nature of Fuller's game makes him a boom-or-bust fantasy play, but it looks like many more boom weeks could be ahead.

Willie Snead, Saints

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at NYG 80% $15

Snead played with impressive physicality in Week 1 and clearly has Drew Brees' trust. Rookie Michael Thomas could eat into Snead's snaps a bit, but the Saints should roll with three receivers much of the time so Snead will get his.

Eli Rogers, Steelers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. CIN 8% $7

Rogers snagged six of his seven targets for 59 yards and a bizarre, pinball-like touchdown catch in his NFL debut. He should remain the preferred slot option in a passing attack that is nearly a lock to finish among the NFL's most prolific.

Mike Wallace, Ravens

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at CLE 35% $5

Wallace showed he's still among the NFL's fastest players. Is it possible his down years with the Dolphins and Vikings had as much to do with mediocre quarterback play as they did with Wallace's rumored bad attitude? Joe Flacco has a big arm and could be a perfect match for Wallace's vertical skill set.

Chris Hogan, Patriots

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. MIA 31% $5

Hogan made three catches against a stout Cardinals secondary, including a 37-yard touchdown. His role could diminish when Rob Gronkowski returns, but it could also grow if Julian Edelman or Danny Amendola get hurt (and it's not like either has an exemplary track record of staying healthy).

Tajae Sharpe, Titans

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at DET 46% $5

Sharpe's seven catches for 76 yards prove the rookie is, indeed, the Titans' No. 1 receiver.

Mohamed Sanu, Falcons

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at OAK 45% $2

Sanu was heavily involved in the Falcons' aerial attack, catching five of eight targets for 80 yards and a touchdown. With Julio Jones apparently battling through an ankle injury, Sanu should keep seeing plenty of looks.

Tyrell Williams, Chargers

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. JAX 2% $1

With Keenan Allen expected to miss the rest of the season, the Chargers need a receiver to step up. Williams, who caught two passes for 71 yards in Week 1, has as good a chance as anyone. Consider fellow Chargers receiver Travis Benjamin to have about the same FAAB value.

Tight End

Eric Ebron, Lions

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. TEN 59% $10

Ebron caught all five targets sent his way in Week 1 and scored a touchdown. The Lions' passing game is trending upward and Calvin Johnson is no longer around to dominate the red-zone targets. If you need a tight end, prioritize adding Ebron.

Jack Doyle, Colts

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
at DEN 1% $1

Doyle scored two touchdowns in Week 1 and should continue to see some looks in the red zone, especially since the Colts' wideouts are on the smaller side.

Kyle Rudolph, Vikings

Next Up Ownership FAAB bid
vs. GB 18% $1

Rudolph is a limited player, but he put up respectable numbers in Week 1 and carries some week-to-week touchdown potential. He's an option for desperate owners in deep leagues.
