Lions place Levy, Carey on NFI list
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports
The Detroit Lions placed linebacker DeAndre Levy and safety Don Carey on the active/non-football injury list Friday.
Levy played in just one game last season due to a hip injury, but it's uncertain if it's the same ailment that forced the Lions to place him on the NFI list to start training camp.
It's fairly common for players to start camp on the NFI list before having the designation removed quickly. However, with Levy's importance to the Lions' defense and his recent injury woes, the move should stir some minor concern.
