Osweiler to skip Broncos' ring ceremony
Brock Osweiler is fully committed to the Houston Texans.
The quarterback skipped attending Monday's White House ceremony with his former Denver Broncos teammates and doesn't plan to attend the team's Super Bowl ring ceremony Sunday either, a Texans representative told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle.
Osweiler played a key role in the Broncos making the playoffs, but ceded the starting job to Peyton Manning late in the season and watched from the bench as his Denver teammates won Super Bowl 50.
Osweiler, who signed a four-year contract worth $72 million with the Texans in March, said he skipped the White House ceremony to avoid missing practice with his new teammates.
The Texans won't practice this weekend, but it appears Osweiler prefers to focus on their upcoming mandatory minicamp, which is set to begin Tuesday.
