Pittsburgh Steelers tight end Ladarius Green is sitting out OTAs after undergoing ankle surgery this offseason, and is hopeful of returning to the field by training camp, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reports.
Only once in Green's four-year career has he played all 16 games, but his most recent injury wasn't enough to scare the Steelers away from giving him a four-year, $20-million contract in free agency.
"I just want to see if I can prove it to myself that I can go out there and be the best," Green told Fowler.
With Martavis Bryant suspended for the entire season, the Steelers will be eager to get Green onto the field as quickly as possible to give Ben Roethlisberger a big-bodied red-zone target.
