Steelers release Mike Adams

The Pittsburgh Steelers announced the release of offensive tackle Mike Adams on Thursday due to a failed physical.
Adams missed all of the 2015 campaign after undergoing back surgery during the offseason.
The former 2012 second-round pick appeared in 41 games for the Steelers, starting 20, but failed to lock down a regular position in the starting lineup.
With Alejandro Villanueva and Marcus Gilbert locked in at left and right tackle, Adams would have likely been in a battle for a backup role next season if healthy.
Pittsburgh also parted ways with kicker Ty Long and running back Abou Toure on Thursday.
