Tuck to sign 1-day contract, retire with Giants
Justin Tuck will retire where he belongs, with the New York Giants.
The Giants announced Wednesday that Tuck will retire Friday as a member of the team. The defensive end will sign a one-day contract to retire with his preferred club, ESPN's Dan Graziano reports.
Tuck spent the last two seasons with the Oakland Raiders, but had his 2015 season cut short due to a torn pectoral.
The 33-year-old spent nine seasons with the Giants between 2005-2013. He was part of both of New York's Super Bowl-winning teams (XLII and XLVI) and is the only player in NFL history with multiple sacks in multiple Super Bowls.
The Giants selected Tuck out of Notre Dame in the third round of the 2005 draft. He was named to two Pro Bowls, one First-team All-Pro, and one Second-team All-Pro.
He will finish his career with 510 total tackles, 66.5 career sacks, 30 pass deflections, and three interceptions. His 60.5 sacks as a Giant are good enough for sixth all-time in franchise history.
