2016 schedule puts Ravens-Steelers, Broncos-Chiefs in Christmas Day spotlight
After announcing the league schedule and a blockbuster trade the day after an electric final night in the NBA season, the NFL will continue to steal the spotlight and join basketball with a pair of games on Christmas Day.
Sunday of Week 16 lands on Dec. 25 this season, so 12 of the 16 games will be played on Saturday, Dec. 24, with two games to be played on Christmas.
The Baltimore Ravens and Pittsburgh Steelers will certainly not be in a festive mood when they go head-to-head for an important division-rivalry game Christmas afternoon.
The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos in the prime-time game Sunday evening. These two AFC West opponents won on each other's fields last season and Arrowhead Stadium will be rocking as always.
In 2011, the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears played a Week 16 prime-time game on Christmas Day, when the same scheduling situation arose. Aaron Rodgers threw for five touchdowns and 283 yards, as his Packers won 35-21.
