John Franklin III has found a new home field.
The Florida State backup quarterback will reportedly transfer to East Mississippi Community College, according to Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman.
His high school coach, Doug Gatewood, originally reported Franklin's intention to transfer after his chance at playing time basically disappeared, with quarterback Everett Golson transferring from Notre Dame to Tallahassee. "He is just looking for an opportunity," Gatewood said.
Franklin will be in excellent hands at East Mississippi, where he'll be under the direction of newly-hired quarterback coach Clint Trickett, who started with the Seminoles but later transferred to become the starter at West Virginia before ending his playing career.
