Florida State quarterback John Franklin III saw his slim chances of landing the team's starting quarterback job all but erased when Everett Golson elected to transfer to Tallahassee from Notre Dame.
Franklin entered the offseason as the Seminoles' unofficial No. 2 quarterback behind Sean Maguire. His subsequent demotion to the No. 3 spot has caused him to look for a transfer, his high school coach, Doug Gatewood, told Brendan Sonnone of the Orlando Sentinel.
"He doesn't know where yet," Gatewood said. "He is just looking for an opportunity."
Franklin missed the Seminoles' spring game because of an injury.
He came to Tallahassee as a three-star recruit in the class of 2013.
