Colts cut LaRon Landry, 2 others

Pat Lovell / USA TODAY Sports

The Indianapolis Colts announced Wednesday the release of safety LaRon Landry, linebacker Andrew Jackson and tackle Xavier Nixon.

Landry's release comes as no surprise. He was due to carry a cap number of $6 million in 2015 and his play in 2014 was largely disappointing. A four-game suspension for PEDs may have sealed Landry's fate.

Jackson also got into trouble off the field, getting arrested twice in nine months.

Nixon kept his nose clean off the field, but failed to help keep Andrew Luck's jersey clean in eight games played (two starts) over the last two seasons.
