Detroit Red Wings superstar Pavel Datsyuk will reportedly lean on the results of an MRI to determine the course of action this summer in reviving his injured knee, according to Ansar Khan of MLive.com.
The embattled centerman is said to have dead tissue surrounding the joint, and depending on the extent of the deterioration, Datsyuk may require surgery to ensure adequate blood flow to the injured ligament.
In 45 games this year, Datsyuk, stripped of his explosiveness, posted his lowest point total since his rookie season in 2001-02.
