Formula 1 returns to North America this weekend with a trip to the Miami Grand Prix. Sunday's race will mark the fifth edition at the circuit and while Miami hasn't been on the calendar for long, it's already delivered quite a few top moments.

5. LEGO takes over F1

If you were to ask the 2025 grid, which race brought them the most joy, it wouldn't be all too surprising if the majority answered the LEGO race. Each team was provided a replica LEGO F1 car that consisted of 400,000 bricks and were capable of reaching 20 kilometres per hour. So, what happened when 20 of the best drivers in the world were placed inside these gigantic toy cars? Pure chaos.

4. Vintage Daniel Ricciardo

Ricciardo's second chance in F1 didn't have many highlights, but he certainly came to play ball at the 2024 Miami GP sprint. The Australian qualified fourth and held off both a Ferrari and McLaren to finish in the same position. This was Ricciardo's best result during his 2023-2024 stint. Even if it did last only one day, Ricciardo had the paddock believing the Danny Ricciardo of old was still in there.

3. Kimi Antonelli makes history

The first hint that Antonelli had the potential to become the youngest championship leader in F1 history came in Miami. In just his sixth F1 grand prix, the then 18-year-old took pole position for the sprint race, becoming the youngest polesitter in any format in the sport's history. It was that day where it became clear Antonelli held the eye-popping pace that made Mercedes confident in selecting a teenager to replace Lewis Hamilton.

2. Max Verstappen triumphs from 9th to start winning streak

The second edition of the Miami GP ushered in the true dominant era of Verstappen. Starting from ninth on the grid with his teammate Sergio Perez on pole, it looked like the Dutchman was going to lose his lead in the drivers' championship. That was until he sliced through the field for a stunning victory. Immediately after the win, Verstappen got out of his Red Bull and pointed at the No. 1 on his car, reminding the grid of his status. Not only did that Sunday in Miami erase any hope of a Perez championship, but it marked the beginning of a record-breaking 10 consecutive wins for Verstappen.

1. Lando Norris' maiden victory

After 110 races, Norris finally became an F1 race winner at the 2024 Miami GP. Only seven other race winners had to wait longer before their maiden triumph. It was a long time coming for Norris, who had chosen to recommit to McLaren during the prior winter break amid interest from Red Bull. His loyalty paid off. And it would continue to reward him and McLaren as this race would be the first chapter of a story that led to McLaren's back-to-back constructors' titles in 2024 and 2025 and Norris' first drivers' championship last year.
