LaVar wouldn't want LaMelo to join Lakers: 'Hell no'
LaVar Ball doesn't want to see any of his sons in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform again after the way Lonzo's tenure ended there.
Asked for his thoughts on youngest son LaMelo potentially joining the Lakers one day, the elder Ball made it clear he isn't keen on the idea.
"Common sense would tell you, hell no," LaVar told Pierce Simpson of Complex. "You did something to my boy Lonzo, and you think I'm going to come back with the others? I gotta be stone-cold crazy."
He added, "I wanted Melo to be a Laker before that ship done sailed. You get rid of 'Zo and you think I'm going to come back? I'm not that type of foolish guy."
Lonzo was selected second overall by the Lakers in the 2017 NBA Draft and spent two seasons with the team before being traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.
LaMelo is in his third season with the Charlotte Hornets and is under contract through the 2024-25 campaign.
