Leicester City have acted swiftly to cover last week's departure of Ben Chilwell by brokering Timothy Castagne's arrival from Atalanta, the club announced on Thursday.

The Foxes agreed to sign the enterprising full-back for £22 million, according to The Telegraph's Mike McGrath. The Belgian international inked a five-year contract in the East Midlands.

Chilwell's sale to Chelsea, meanwhile, recouped around £50 million.

"While thanking Timothy for having contributed significantly in his three seasons with Atalanta to the achievement of important milestones in the history of the club, we wish him the best, both personally and professionally, for his new experience in England," read Atalanta's statement.

Castagne - like his new teammate James Justin - can operate on either side of the defense. Brendan Rodgers' collection of full-backs are rounded out by Ricardo Pereira, who won the club's 2018-19 Player of the Season award, and veteran Christian Fuchs.

Castagne, 24, has appeared seven times for Belgium and will link up with compatriots Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet at Leicester. He was also Wilfred Ndidi's teammate at Genk.
