Toronto FC vs. D.C. United moved to Monday after COVID-19 confusion
Toronto FC and D.C. United will meet at 9 a.m. ET on Monday following Sunday's postponement.
The two teams were minutes from kickoff when their opening game of the MLS is Back Tournament was called off. The decision was made after D.C. United reported a positive coronavirus test, and TFC registered one inconclusive result.
Follow-up tests cleared all players from both teams of COVID-19, the league has confirmed. However, the two unnamed players who prompted Sunday's postponement will undergo further testing and sit out Monday's affair.
MLS also confirmed new dates for the second matches of Toronto FC's and D.C. United's campaigns. TFC will now face the Montreal Impact on Thursday, while D.C. United will clash with the New England Revolution a day later.
Those changes have necessitated further shifts in the calendar. San Jose Earthquakes vs. Vancouver Whitecaps remains on July 15, and the Colorado Rapids and Sporting Kansas City will still lock horns on July 17, but both matches have been moved to a later time.
