Makar notches 3rd straight 20-goal season

Colorado Avalanche star Cale Makar reached the 20-goal mark for the third consecutive campaign on Wednesday against the Dallas Stars, becoming the 10th defenseman in NHL history to do so.

Bobby Orr holds the NHL record with seven straight 20-goal seasons by a defenseman.

Makar is the 12th blue-liner ever to post four career 20-goal campaigns. He also reached the milestone in 2021-22 but failed to hit the mark in 2022-23, when he scored 17 despite missing 22 games due to injury.
