Prospects hoping to boost their draft stock at the last minute may be able to do so remotely.

The NBA is evaluating potential dates for the 2020 draft combine and is also reviewing the possibility of holding the event virtually, reports Shams Charania of The Athletic.

In order to decide which prospects participate in the event, the league reportedly sent teams ballots to vote on which players they want to see.

Without a combine - whether in person or virtual - teams would be unable to gauge a player's physical metrics ahead of the draft. In April, the league reportedly ruled that franchises cannot request virtual workouts from players they are interested in. Remote interviews, however, are still permitted.

The combine and draft lottery were both officially postponed earlier in May. No new date has yet been announced for either event. The 2020 draft is still scheduled for June 25, though it is apparently expected to be postponed as well.
