Report: Nationals bring back Hudson on 2-year, $11M deal
The Washington Nationals agreed to a two-year, $11-million deal with right-hander Daniel Hudson, according to Jeff Passan of ESPN.
Hudson can reportedly earn an additional $1 million in performance bonuses tied to games finished.
He went 3-0 with a 1.44 ERA in 24 regular-season appearances for the Nationals after he was acquired in a midseason trade.
The 32-year-old recorded the last out of the 2019 postseason, helping the Nationals secure their first-ever World Series title.
In 10 big-league seasons, Hudson owns a 49-35 record with a 3.83 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 3.75 FIP in 692 2/3 innings. After spending the early parts of his career as a starter, he moved to the bullpen full time in 2014.
Washington's front office has been busy in the new year, signing Hudson, Will Harris, Starlin Castro, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Eric Thames.
The Nationals have also been linked to free-agent third baseman Josh Donaldson.
