Report: PG to debut this week against Rockets or Pelicans
Paul George will make his season debut during the Los Angeles Clippers' upcoming road trip, playing against either the Houston Rockets on Wednesday or the New Orleans Pelicans on Thursday, league sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The Clippers are still deciding which game, reports Wojnarowski, but sources told Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes that George is aiming to play against the Pelicans.
It was previously reported that the club was targeting the mid-November road trip for George's long-awaited return from a pair of offseason shoulder surgeries.
If the six-time All-Star appears in Wednesday's game in Houston, he's not expected to suit up against the Pelicans, sources told The Athletic's Sam Amick.
L.A. acquired George from the Oklahoma City Thunder in a blockbuster deal this summer. The 29-year-old is coming off the best season of his nine-year NBA career, having averaged career highs in points (28.0), rebounds (8.2), and steals (2.2) while finishing third in MVP voting.
