The offensive-lineman-needy Cincinnati Bengals received some welcome news Wednesday.
Guard Christian Westerman ended his retirement after five days and returned to the team. He's been removed from the Bengals' exempt list.
A fifth-round pick in 2016, Westerman started just two games in 2017 and played in 14 last season. Before walking away, he'd been competing for a starting job on an offensive line that lost 2019 first-round pick Jonah Williams to a torn labrum in OTAs. Veteran guard Clint Boling also retired in July.
