San Francisco Giants left-hander Madison Bumgarner wasn't impressed with Yasiel Puig or his home run Sunday.

Puig flipped his bat after taking an inside fastball from Bumgarner for a ride in the sixth inning at Oracle Park, prompting the Giants pitcher to respond with some choice words for the Reds outfielder following the game.

"He's a quick study. It only took him seven years to learn how to hit that pitch," Bumgarner said, according to Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic.

Bumgarner and Puig have a history stemming from Puig's playing days with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

In 2014, Bumgarner took exception to a Puig bat flip, hitting him later in the year with a pitch. In 2016, benches cleared between the Dodgers and Giants when the two players got into a verbal altercation.

"I love to play all the teams in MLB, but when I come here to the Giants and San Francisco, people booing me, I think it's a God-given blessing, an opportunity to do the best I can more than (at) any other stadiums because people are booing me," Puig said, according to Maria Guardado of MLB.com. "That's the reason I've had a little success when I play the Giants here in San Francisco."

Puig's homer was one of eight hits and four runs charged to Bumgarner in the contest, but the Giants pitcher got the last laugh when his team came back late in the game to secure a 6-5 win over Cincinnati.
