Report: Texas A&M expected to offer Buzz Williams head coaching job
Texas A&M is expected to offer Virginia Tech's Buzz Williams a multi-year deal worth approximately $3.5 million annually to fill their head coaching vacancy, sources told CBS Sports' Jon Rothstein.
The Aggies parted ways with head coach Billy Kennedy shortly after the conclusion of another season in which they failed to reach the NCAA Tournament, marking the sixth premature end to the campaign in his eight years.
Williams led the Hokies (26-9) to arguably their best season in school history before narrowly falling to Duke in the Sweet 16 on Friday.
Prior to his time with Virginia Tech, Williams was the head coach at Marquette and helped it reach the NCAA Tournament in five consecutive seasons.
Williams sports a 253-155 career record in 12 seasons as a collegiate coach.
