The Los Angeles Dodgers are back in play for Bryce Harper, as team officials, including manager Dave Roberts, were seen in Las Vegas on Sunday, sources told MLB.com's Jesse Sanchez.

"It was good," Roberts said of the meeting with Harper, according to Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register.

"I'm not too hopeful or anything. It's just something that's - it's just talk. It's just conversation," Roberts added.

Los Angeles is interested in a short-term deal with the free-agent slugger, according to ESPN. Harper is still seeking a long-term agreement and has given no indication he is willing to change that demand, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The news of the Dodgers' latest interest in Harper comes days after Philadelphia Phillies owner John Middleton flew to Las Vegas to meet with the 26-year-old. The two sides were reportedly in "deep and serious negotiations," and Philadelphia remains the only team talking to Harper about a true long-term deal, a source told MLB.com's Mark Feinsand.

Harper is expected to make his decision by the end of this week, two team executives told Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.

The San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Chicago White Sox, and Washington Nationals have all been linked to Harper this offseason, although his former club has moved on.

Harper is reportedly seeking a deal in excess of the 10-year, $300-million offer he rejected from the Nationals. He's also apparently turned down multiple offers worth more than $300 million in recent weeks.

The 2015 National League MVP winner is coming off a 2018 season where he hit .249/.393/.496 with 34 home runs and 100 RBIs.
