Legendary boxing trainer Freddie Roach is confident Floyd Mayweather Jr. will come out of retirement once again for an official fight this year.

Roach told Keith Idec of BoxingScene.com that he believes Mayweather will face the winner of the upcoming Manny Pacquiao-Adrien Broner bout after making quick work of Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukaw on New Year's Day.

"I feel a hundred percent that is why he did this," Roach said. "He wants to be on TV so badly. He misses it. He's actually a normal person and a nice guy when you're one-on-one, without a camera on him. But you give him a camera, he's not the nicest guy in the world."

Pacquiao, who's training with Roach again following a public falling-out last year, said in November that he "can't retire with peace of mind" without a rematch against Mayweather.

"I think both guys have that in their minds," Roach said of Pacquiao and Broner wanting to fight Mayweather after their bout. "I'm sure Mayweather will wanna fight the winner of this fight. That's why we definitely have to win this fight. We know that, and we're ready to do that."

Pacquiao and Broner will square off Jan. 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
