Chicago Bulls guard Denzel Valentine will undergo surgical reconstruction on his ankle and is expected to miss four-to-six months, the team announced Monday.
Valentine was diagnosed with ongoing ankle stability but is expected to make a full recovery.
The 25-year-old was drafted 14th overall by the Bulls in 2016 and had yet to appear in a game this season after suffering the injury during training camp.
Last season, Valentine averaged 10.2 points and 5.1 rebounds in 77 games played, including 37 starts.
