Agent: Ferrell 'felt uncomfortable' with Mavs deal, will weigh options

In what has become a minor trend, another player has evidently reneged on a verbal agreement. Guard Yogi Ferrell, who reportedly came to terms on a two-year, $5.3-million deal with the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday, has reversed course and intends to look over his choices again.

“We felt uncomfortable and will weigh our options,” Ferrell's agent, Cervando Tejeda, told Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.

Ferrell plans to make a decision within the next day, league sources told Charania on Friday, and the Cleveland Cavaliers and New Orleans Pelicans are among the teams interested in his services.

The Mavericks apparently found out about the change of heart by seeing it on Twitter.

While the vast majority of verbal agreements do come to fruition, Ferrell is the second player this week to back out after terms of the agreement were reported, following in the steps of forward Nemanja Bjelica.

The 30-year-old Bjelica initially agreed to a one-year, $4.4-million contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. However, he is now in talks on a two-year pact in the range of $13 million with the Sacramento Kings.
